Unexpected Blessing!

An elderly gentleman in my church recently passed away and the executor of his estate, a church member, told me he had a check for Operation Bandanas from his estate. On a previous occasion, this Senior Saint had given a $5,000 gift to our ministry. I had the privilege of visiting with him in his home to personally thank him.  I also gave him a Psalm 91 bandana. He was a veteran and because of His generosity, I thought it would be fitting to give him a bandana. He thought the bandana was a great way to share God’s word with our troops. This past Sunday his executor handed me a check for $10,000! That is the largest single donation from an individual we have received since we began in 2006. The executor of his estate told me that our friend had the bandana I gave him hanging on his wall. Perhaps it ministered to him as it has to so many others.

God never ceases to amaze me!  He is so faithful to His faithful and continues to provide the resources for us to bless more and more of our troops with  Psalm 91 bandanas.  And yes, we still have many requests from soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines serving in Afghanistan and on land and sea in other remote places around the world. If I had any doubt that we would continue our ministry into 2013, my doubts were quickly dashed on Sunday morning!  God is at work through Operation Bandanas, and He obviously has a purpose and plan for our simple ministry to our servicemen and women.

I’m so thankful I said “Yes, Lord”, in 2006, when He called me to begin tHIS mission. It has been an incredible journey. And that’s why I had to write a book about it!  It’s really an amazing story of what God can do through His people if they are obedient to His call.
